Introduction
Many FYI practices use client codes to track entities, match records across systems, or support reporting and billing conventions. Depending on how your FYI is configured, those codes might come from different fields.
With the integration enabled, you can map three default fields to your clients in Socket:
Export Codes
Client Codes
FYI Client ID
Once set, Socket will display your chosen value appears on:
Client dashboard
Client records
Xero invoices
1. Configure Your FYI Integration

Connect FYI.
2. Enable Client Code Mode
Go to 'Practice Settings', then 'App Settings'.
Turn on 'Client Code Mode' by selecting 'Required' or 'Optional' from the dropdown menu).
3. Open Client Code Mapping
Go to Practice Settings > Integrations and navigate to the FYI integration.
Select 'Configure'.
Choose 'Client Code Mapping'.
4. Choose Your FYI Field
Select one of the available options:
Export Code
Client Code
FYI Client ID
The selected field will populate the client code shown in Socket.
Click Save.
⚠️ If you want to push client codes for prospects created in Socket to FYI then you need to use the 'Export Code' option.
Due to an API limitation, if you select "Client Code" or "FYI Client ID" when configuring the client code mapping, then client codes set for new prospects cannot be pushed through to FYI via the API. In this instance, new prospects are new contacts created in Socket instead of FYI.
📣 XPM Users! Using 'Export Codes' as your client identifier is the easiest way to sync your client codes across all three systems:
Socket <> FYI <> XPM.
5. Changing Mapping
You can switch the source field at any time:
Go back to Client Code Mapping
Pick a different FYI field
Save
After changing the setting:
Existing clients may need a sync.
Note:
If the field is blank in FYI, nothing will pull through until FYI contains data.
Troubleshooting Notes
If codes don’t update immediately, try syncing the client record.
If FYI values don’t appear, check that the FYI field contains a value.
