Before You Begin
This integration is currently in beta, so if you’d like access just message us through the in-app chat, so we can switch it on for you.
To get started, watch our walkthrough video or follow the steps below to configure Socket with XPM.
Connecting to XPM
Once we've turned the integration on for you, head to Practice Settings in Socket and find the Integrations tab. Click 'Show all available integrations' and then scroll down till you find the XPM icon. Click Connect to Xero Practice Manager, and you’ll be taken to a Xero login page.
Sign in here with your XPM account details, choose the account you want to connect, and click Allow Access. The sync will then start automatically.
If you already have clients in Socket, we’ll try to match them with clients in XPM. If any don’t match, you can link them manually from the client view screen.
Matching Clients
Once the integration is set up, you’ll see a success message.
Jump over to the Client screen in Socket. If a client isn’t matched in XPM, you’ll see an orange warning icon. Click it to open a pop-up where you can select the right XPM client to link.
Creating Proposals with XPM Clients
When creating a proposal, you’ll now see your XPM clients under Existing Client. If a client isn’t already in Socket, it’ll be added when the proposal is generated.
Once the client has approved the proposal and it’s marked as Won, we’ll automatically push the client and contacts to XPM.
Keeping Clients & Contacts in Sync
If you update a client in XPM, you can sync those changes into Socket. Just open the three-dot menu next to the client in Socket and select Sync with XPM.
Socket also runs an automatic sync every hour, so everything stays up to date. Plus, we check for deleted clients daily to keep your records tidy.
Disconnecting the Integration
If you ever need to disconnect the integration, go to Practice Settings, open the Integrations tab, and click Disconnect.
This will remove the connection, but you can always reconnect later by following the setup steps again.
As it's in beta, we'd love your feedback and we're always happy to help so please reach out if you have any questions.
