The Facts tab brings every fact Socket holds about a client into one grid: figures such as annual revenue and employee count, Companies House dates, and health scores from connected tools.
Each fact shows the current value, where it came from, when it last changed, and how it has moved over the last 12 months. Every change is kept in a history you can open per fact. The tab is on every client record, including prospects, and any active member of the practice can view and edit facts.
Opening the Facts tab
Go to Clients and open the client.
Select the Facts tab.
Fact groups
Size and Volumes: Annual Revenue, Employee Count, Transactions per Month, Bank Statement Lines per Month, Bills per Month, and Sales Invoices per Month. These are the facts that drive pricing when a service uses a client fact as a price driver.
Company: Legal Name, Financial Year End, Next Accounts Made Up To, Next Accounts Due, Next Confirmation Statement, and Confirmation Statement Due. For an Australian client this group is labelled Business.
Health: the Xenon Health Score or Dext Precision Health Score, shown when the client is linked to one of those tools.
Where facts come from
The Source column names whoever or whatever set the current value:
A team member's name: typed in by hand, on the Facts tab or in the client details.
Proposal wizard: entered as a driver when building a proposal.
Synced from Companies House: the Company group, for clients with a company registration number.
Synced from Xenon or Synced from Dext Precision: revenue, volumes, and health scores measured from the client's books, updated on each sync.
Imported: brought in through a client import or a Price Monitor import.
Recovered from Logs: Socket started recording fact changes in late September 2026. Values set before then were rebuilt from Socket's system logs, so the value and its date are known but not what set it. The label is replaced the next time the fact changes.
Not Recorded: the value has no change history behind it, so Socket cannot say where it came from.
Adding or editing a fact
Select + Add Value, or the pencil icon on a fact that already has a value.
Enter the value and save.
The row updates with your name as the source and today's date as the last changed date, and the change is added to the fact's history.
To clear a fact, edit it and save it empty. Socket asks you to confirm, and the cleared value stays in the history.
Editing a fact here has the same effect as changing it in the proposal wizard. If you use Price Monitor, any analysis that relies on the fact is marked stale.
Locked facts
A fact shows a padlock instead of a pencil when a connected source supplies it. Hovering over the padlock explains why.
Company facts lock when the client has a company registration number and Companies House lookup is available for its country. Without a registration number, they are editable by hand.
Size and Volumes and Health facts lock when the client is linked to Xenon Connect or Dext Precision and the tool supplies that fact. Facts the tool does not supply stay editable: Dext Precision does not provide an employee count, for example, so Employee Count can still be edited on a Dext-linked client.
If you edit a fact by hand and an integration later syncs a value for it, the sync overwrites your edit. Both changes appear in the history.
The 12-month change column
An arrow and percentage: for numbers and health scores, green for up and red for down.
New: the fact was first recorded within the last 12 months.
Changed: for text and dates, where a percentage does not apply.
No Change: nothing moved in the last 12 months, or the fact has no value.
Accounts Filed or Statement Filed: a Companies House deadline moved forward by roughly a year, meaning the client filed.
Fact history
Select the history icon on any row to open the history drawer. It shows the current value, a step chart for number facts, and a timeline of changes, newest first, each with the old and new value and who or what made the change. The three most recent changes are shown, with a link to the rest.
Use the arrows at the top of the drawer, or the left and right arrow keys, to step through the other facts without closing it.
Common questions
Can I edit a fact that Xenon or Dext Precision set if the client is no longer linked?
Yes. Once the link is removed, the client keeps its last synced values and they become editable.
Do facts on this tab affect proposal pricing?
Yes, where a service uses a client fact as a price driver. See Price Drivers Explained.
