This guide explains how to connect Dext Precision to Socket, what data is shared between the two platforms, and how to use that data to improve your pricing accuracy and client conversations.

What the Integration Does

Dext Precision analyses your clients’ Xero data to flag issues and summarise their overall data quality. It also gives you access to key metrics like:

Health score (based on data quality)

Sales invoices per month

Annual revenue

Transactions per month

Bank statement lines

Bills per month

Once connected, Socket pulls this data in automatically and makes it available to use as pricing drivers when setting up services or building proposals.

Step 1: Connect Dext Precision to Socket

  1. In Socket, go to Practice Settings > Integrations.

  2. If Dext Precision doesn’t appear straight away, click Show all available integrations.

  3. Find Dext Precision in the list and click Connect.

  4. Socket will prompt you to enter an API key (called a token in Dext Precision).

To generate this token:

  • Open Dext Precision.

  • Go to Configuration > API.

  • Click Create Authentication Token.

  • Give it a name and click Create.

  • Copy the token (you’ll only see it once)

  • Paste it into Socket and click Save.

Step 2: Syncing Data

Once connected, Dext Precision will sync data into Socket once per day, overnight.

  • Allow up to 24 hours for the first sync.

  • When you add new clients, their data will appear after the next sync.

More frequent syncing is planned for the future.

Step 3: Viewing Dext Precision Data in Client Records

Once the sync is complete, go to Clients in Socket and open any client record.

You’ll now see their Dext Precision health score at the top of the page.

This score reflects the quality of their bookkeeping data and confirms that Precision is connected.

Step 4: Using Precision Data in Pricing

Precision data becomes available as client facts in Socket. These facts can be used as driver inputs in your proposals. Available client facts include:

  • Annual revenue

  • Sales invoices per month

  • Bills per month

  • Bank statement lines per month

  • Transactions per month

These figures come directly from Dext Precision and so you can link them to specific services.

Socket will also auto-detect and pre-select the appropriate driver option as a suggestion for each client. You can override the selection if needed.

Step 5: Using Precision Data in Proposals

When you start a new proposal:

  • The client’s health score will be shown on the client record which is useful for understanding the complexity of their data. As above.

  • As you add services, any client facts linked to those services will be automatically updated. (eg 28) 👇

  • If sales invoices per month are used as a pricing driver, for example, Socket will show the detected volume and suggest the matching price bracket. (eg 21 - 30 suggested) 👇
