Price Monitoring checks your clients’ proposals against your Xero CSV of costs to highlight potential missed revenue or savings.

Note: This feature requires the Pro Features add-on, contact support to add this onto your subscription.

Getting Started

On the left-hand sidebar, you’ll see a section called Monitor.

Click to open it. You’ll need your Xero CSV file that contains your monthly charges - have it ready to upload.

It will look something like this:

Configuring Settings

Click ‘Manage Settings’ to get started.

To compare the subscription fees you’re charged by Xero with what you’re charging clients, select the relevant Xero-related services.

We’ll display all services from your current and future pricing menus, as well as any services from older pricing menus that have been used in proposals.

Once selected, click ‘Save’. You can always update these settings later.

Uploading your Xero CSV

• Drag and drop your CSV file into the dotted box on the page

• Or click the cloud icon to browse and upload

• Then press ‘Upload’

You’ll now see a comparison between the prices in your proposals and the actual Xero costs, listed by client.

You Pay = cost from your Xero CSV

They Pay = price in your Pricing Menu

We’ll show you the difference, along with your total potential saving.

Investigating the Results

Hover your mouse over the value in the Client Pays column to see a tooltip with a breakdown of the services they are paying for.

Hover your mouse over the value in You Pay to see a tooltip with a breakdown of what you are being charged for.

Click on a client name or anywhere on a line to go straight to their proposals.

We’ll automatically try to match clients from your CSV to clients in Socket. If we’re unsure, you’ll see an orange warning triangle.

Click the triangle to manually select the correct client.

To remove a line from the list, click the three dots on the right-hand side and choose ‘Remove’.

This will update your potential savings figure accordingly.

Uploading a New File

To clear your current data and upload a new CSV:

• Click the three dots in the top right

• Choose ‘Clear Imported Data’

• Or simply select ‘Upload New CSV’ again

Adjusting Settings

If you need to include additional services to be monitored:

• Click ‘Manage Settings’ via the three dots in the top-right

• Add any extra services you’d like Socket to cross-check
