Using Proposal Extras in Socket

This guide covers how to use extras in socket. It will show how to add extras and also how clients will see extras added onto proposals.

What are Extras?

Extras are simple add-ons you can include in a proposal, giving your clients the flexibility to tailor your services to their needs.
Extras can be service items set up already on socket that you want to just give as an optional extra to your clients, this could be services to support those already in your proposal or even software or other add ons you can offer to your client.

Adding extras helps you:

  • Grow revenue by upselling relevant services.

  • Improve client experience by letting them customise their proposal.

  • Reduce admin by avoiding redrafting proposals when clients want “just a little more”.

How to Add Extras to a Proposal

Start creating a proposal as normal and complete the ‘General’ tab as normal.

To add a service as an ‘Extra’ instead of using the select button choose ‘More actions’ and then choose the ‘Select as Extra’ option.

You will now see the ‘Extra’ logo appear next to that service and all selected extras will be shown on the right-hand side under ‘Proposed Extras’.

How do Clients select Extras

When your client is navigating through their proposal, there will be a tab shown for ‘Extras’ where all the extras you selected will be shown and the client will have the option to ‘Add To Proposal’.

If the client chooses any extras they will be added to the total fees but will always be flagged with the ‘Extras’ logo throughout. Any service schedule templates associated with selected extras will be added onto the documentation for your client.

In Socket any extras that have been selected or not selected will be shown separately from the other services so its clear any extras which have been taken on.

Tips

  • Use extras for any optional services which can enhance your core offering

  • Keep any descriptions of extras simple so the client can understand the value quickly

Extras can also be combined with ‘Options’ to allow you to give the best option and value to your client.
