Closing Clients in Socket

In Socket, you don’t remove clients entirely — your subscription is based on the number of active clients in your account.

If you no longer need to work with a client, you can close them. This frees up an active client slot so you can add a new one, without increasing your subscription.

Instructions

How to Close a Client

Navigate to the ‘Clients’ tab by using the option in the left hand menu.

Find the client you want to close. You can use the search bar at the top of the screen or use filters to narrow down your client list to locate the one you are looking for.

Use the three dots menu on the right hand side of the client record and then choose the ‘Mark as Closed’ option. You will need to confirm this before closing by entering their last billable month, and a reason for closing.

If the client is closed in the current month or in the future they will show a flag within the client record of ‘Closing Soon’. If you need to cancel this or re-open them after closing this can be done by choosing the three dots menu within the client record and then choose ‘Re-activate Client’.
