The Work Management area is your control centre to manage all non-recurring services, otherwise called ‘on-completion’ work, including one-off, annual, or quarterly services.
To bill for any on-completion work, head to Work Management.
What you can manage here
Use Work Management to:
Complete on-completion work
Immediately raise an invoice using your billing integration
Renew services for the next period once work is completed
Track both expected and actual billing dates
Manage work linked to multi-entity proposals
Search, filter, export, and report on completed, closed, and pending jobs.
Completing and Billing Work
When on-completion work is ready to be billed:
Open Work Management and search for the relevant job.
From the three dots menu, select ‘Mark as Complete’.
For work with an estimate price you’ll need to confirm the final price.
For any other work type, if the price is incorrect you’ll need to issue a minor adjustment to the proposal to correct the price.
If you have a billing integration connected you’ll have the option to raise an invoice for the work. This will be pre-populated, and you can untick this option if you do not want to raise invoice.
Generate a draft invoice via your billing integration
Choose to renew the service for the next period
⚠️ Important!
You must be out of Safe Mode to use the billing functionality.
If you choose to not raise an invoice for a job, the work will automatically be marked as ‘Closed’ instead of 'Completed'.
Closing Jobs
To close a job that hasn't been completed:
Open Work Management and search for the relevant job.
From the three dots menu, select ‘Close Job’.
Confirm by selecting 'Close Job' again
Managing Expected Billing Dates & Cashflow
The Work Management area gives you visibility not just into what’s been completed, but what’s coming next. You can set an expected billing date to each job, allowing you to:
Forecast upcoming revenue
Understand short- and medium-term cashflow
Compare expected billing with actual billing dates once invoices are raised
Add internal notes to remember key details and keep team members in the loop.
Filtering & Searching Work
You can filter work management data by:
Job status
Client owner
Client manager
Expected billing dates
Actual billing dates
This makes it easy to:
Review workloads by team member
Identify overdue or upcoming billing
Isolate completed or pending jobs within a specific timeframe
You can search across both pending and completed jobs, making historical reporting quick and reliable.
Exporting & Reporting
Useful for internal reporting, revenue forecasting, you can export your Work Management data at any time:
Export all data using the Export button on the top right of the page, or
Apply filters first and export a snapshot, for example:
By time period
By client owner or manager
By job status
Hook up to Socket Insights for automatic reporting without any exporting. Socket Insights pulls your data into Google Sheets, and includes a report for 'One-Off Services' listed by client.
Multi-Entity Work Management
For proposals covering multiple entities, all work is billed to the primary client named on the proposal. From the Work Management area you can:
Track work completion per entity
Invoice individual or multiple services correctly against the primary entity
Maintain clean records of work completion and payment without manual reconciliation
When completing work for multi-entity proposals, you can also handle this from the Primary client's page, under 'Services'. Toggle 'Show all entities' to see all the work and manage accordingly.
